A practical overview of cement bags, rebar diameters, BRC mesh, fencing wire and roofing gauges — so you order the right materials the first time.
Cement bag basics
Kenyan site cement is typically sold in 50kg bags. 32.5R grades suit many general applications; always follow your mix design for structural concrete. We stock Simba, Bamburi, Rhino and Rai.
Reading rebar diameters
D8–D16 describe bar diameter in mm. Use lighter bars for stirrups and mesh support; heavier bars for beams and columns as specified. R6 is a mild round bar for light work.
BRC mesh grades
A98, A142 and A610 are fabric designations with different wire sizes and spacing. Match the sheet to your structural drawing — we price per sheet and deliver with your cement and steel.
Roofing gauge & fasteners
Pair sheets with the correct gauge, ridges, valleys and roofing nails (KES 180/kg). Ordinary nails (KES 140/kg) suit timber and formwork, not sheet fixing.
